I was so impressed with the professional way that the whole
process unfolded. The flyer was beautiful. The room was bright and airy. The
easels gave the display an authentic charm. You were so friendly and
helpful. Yes, we made sure that we were well organized, but it worked so
well because of what the 'Changeable Art' program offers. We feel encouraged
to keep going in following our passion.

‘There have been so many positive results from the one-day exhibition held on April 12. The exhibition itself provided a catalyst for my desire to develop a much stronger profile for my artwork. Contacting Avant Card was one activity.
In any of the arts it is difficult to get a break through into the commercial market. This is what happened for me with Changeable Art.
I now know the general public are interested in my work. And although I cannot give up the day job yet, I still imagine there will be a day when this can happen.
The project of Changeable Art is a wonderful initiative and complements the other art-based projects of North Sydney Community Centre.’

‘The opportunity to use the Changeable Art space is FANTASTIC.
I hadn’t exhibited a great deal before, only a handful of times and it had been a while. I had been painting up a storm and was shy about sharing what I’d done with anyone.
Without a huge commitment of paying for a space, I was able to share my art. It was a huge boost of confidence-lots of people got to see it and I got great feedback.
It was nice to know when people purchased a piece, part of that money went back to the Centre-so it was win-win for everyone, without upfront cost. The space drew in strangers, as well and friends and family, who purchased art. It made me feel like a million dollars and I was so glad to be sharing art with people who loved it too.

An additional benefit was acquaintances I’d made in the art world came along and through connecting with them I was able to hold future exhibitions.
It was a great step up to get what I’ve been doing out on show. Having sold work, I have been able to create new work and it keeps getting better and better-I have a lot to be thankful for!
It was also wonderful to have the advice and support of Lucy (who runs Changeable Art) and Stephen (fellow artist). I have loads of art and they had good ideas and hands on help to present the work in a strong and easy to see matter.
Not to mention Lucy’s presence on the day, talking to patrons, processing payment, honest and swift dealings all made the experience probably better than most artist experience in that ‘dark’ artist world.
I loved doing it, and if I didn’t allow other people their turn to enjoy the space, I’d be back again, and again!’

‘I really enjoyed the event when I joined Feb 2008 with a group of
G26 artists. It is a great location and all the art works are beautifully presented in each room.
It has an open atmosphere and different warm aspects compared to public art galleries. It is a very friendly space - It gives you a closer feelings to the artists and their art works.
And Lucy, the organiser of Changeable Art is very supportive to artists and her effort to manage the exhibition and artists successfully each time is just phenomenal.’

It's great to see a grassroots community art collective that showcases such a interesting and diverse range of works from some seriously talented artists!
