These social workshops are overseen by the lovely and multi-talented Bronnie Zervos, who brings a wealth of crafting and teaching knowledge to help you move forward with your unfinished project, find inspiration/motivation to get started, share tips and tricks, or just converse about crafting in good company.
Suitable for Hand Embroidery, Crochet, Knitting, Hand Sewing, Macrame, Weaving, Jewellery, Polymer Clay and most other hand crafting projects. Please note this workshop is not suitable for beginners.
What’s your crafting journey? Did you learn as a child? Have you only just begun?
Handed down through generations, or a self-discovered passion; Craft as a social activity goes way back in history. The many forms of making with your hands provide a challenge and a focus for both mind and body, as well as a wonderful creative outlet. Making in the company of others lets you share the creative spirit and connect with like-minded people.
In our busy lives, it can be hard to make time to sit still for more than a couple of minutes and focus, without getting interrupted, so come along and relax your mind as you create, chat and share projects, stories and knowledge in this regular series of Craft Socials. Share your crafting journey, and your crafting dreams.
If you would like to learn to crochet or embroidery, please check out Bronnie’s Beginners craft classes!
*During COVID: Students studying on-site at NSCC will be expected to assist their tutor in a post-course clean down of the room & anything used during this time. Please understand we are putting in strict protocols across the board to ensure the safety of our entire community.
BYO project and materials and a tea or coffee. Bronnie will have a supply of project kits and extra materials available for purchase if required.
Bronnie started crafting as a way to practise mindfulness and create time for herself in a busy world. Her journey started with sewing cushions and beach bags which proved to be very popular at local markets and in her Etsy store. Bronnie began to explore other crafts including jewellery making, crochet and macrame. While she loves making her own creations for her Etsy store and handmade gifts for family and friends, her real passion is inspiring others to get creative and enjoy making their own projects. Bronnie believes everybody has a creative side!
‘So thrilled and excited for my new hobby! I can't wait to come back and learn many new skills. Bronnie was so lovely and patient and able to give us lots of one on one time which you can't pay for. Thank you for a lovely afternoon and for introducing me to my new hobby/obsession :)’
