Photography Beginners

Do you have a new digital SLR camera and don’t know where to begin?

Overwhelmed by all the settings and how to use them? Not getting the results you were hoping for?

Cover basic, macro, sport and landscape photography and discover how shutter speed, aperture and ISO settings change and affect your images.

Learn to identify each shooting situation and adjust your gear accordingly.

Please note: the 8th lesson of this class will be held offsite, on a mutually agreed weekend during the term.

*During COVID: Students studying on-site at NSCC will be expected to assist their tutor in a post-course clean down of the room & anything used during this time. Please understand we are putting in strict protocols across the board to ensure the safety of our entire community.

Tutor: Zara King

Zara is a qualified photographer and Beginners’ Photography teacher, who specialises in naturally lit, documentary-style photography. A story-teller at heart, Zara strives to capture the in-between, otherwise unseen moments, where people are at their most comfortable and most pure. My favourite part about teaching Beginner Photography is the moment it all clicks together and finally makes sense. And we’re all in this together, as I also learn something new with every class. Knowledge is a journey, not a destination.
