Deepening your Meditation Practice

Meditation is a practice where one concentrates the mind on a particular object in order to focus and quiet the mind. Meditation may be used to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and pain. Meditation can also provide clarity when faced with tough decisions and with regular practice has the capacity to alter and enhance our outlook on life, including how we respond to certain situations. Meditation helps us to understand our own mind. Meditations within the Buddhist tradition teach us how to overcome negative mindset and cultivate positive thoughts, transforming our mind from negative to positive, from disturbed to peaceful, from unhappy to happy. A follow up course to “Simplifying Meditation”, “Deepening your meditation practice” is a 4 week course in which students will learn to deepen their meditation experience by developing a sustained seated meditation practice. By observing body and mind more closely, students will gain an in-depth understanding of how physical, mental and emotional states control and influence our overall health and wellbeing. This course aims to take your simple meditation practice and help you deepen it to experience a greater connection with oneself. Jeremy has been working in health and wellness in North Sydney for over 5 years. Working as a holistic personal trainer, Jeremy began a meditation practice in 2013 seeking greater clarity in life and relationships. Intrigued and encouraged by the effects of his practice, Jeremy then travelled to India in 2016 to learn more about meditation and how to guide others through the art of meditation. Jeremy hopes through teaching meditation he can help people establish a daily practice that helps them cultivate love, compassion and patience in their everyday lives.
