Meditation is a practice where one concentrates the mind on a particular object in order to focus and quiet the mind. Meditation may be used to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and pain. Meditation can also provide clarity when faced with tough decisions and with regular practice has the capacity to alter and enhance your outlook on life, including how you respond to certain situations.
Meditation helps us to understand our own mind. Meditations within the Buddhist tradition teach us how to overcome negative mindset and cultivate positive thoughts, transforming our mind from negative to positive, from disturbed to peaceful, from unhappy to happy. There are such a vast number of meditation techniques and instructions that it can be difficult to decipher exactly where to begin when starting a meditation practice. In this 5 week course, you will learn meditation techniques including breath awareness, mantra meditation, Yoga nidra (body scanning) and loving kindness meditation. This course aims to make meditation instructions simple and easy to understand so you are able to practise meditation on a daily basis, formulating a habit that not only transforms our lives, but those around us as well. Jeremy has been working in health and wellness in North Sydney for over 5 years. Working as a holistic personal trainer, Jeremy began a meditation practice in 2013 seeking greater clarity in life and relationships. Intrigued and encouraged by the effects of his practice, Jeremy then travelled to India in 2016 to learn more about meditation and how to guide others through the art of meditation. Jeremy hopes through teaching meditation he can help people establish a daily practice that helps them cultivate love, compassion and patience in their everyday lives.
