**This class will be delivered online in Term 3, using the Zoom video platform. To take part, you will need to download and install Zoom from the internet, and set up a free ‘basic’ account. NSCC uses platforms that we trust, but we encourage you to be aware of computer safety and protect your personal information when using the internet.
Stretch & Strength needs a Yoga mat, and the rest of this list is optional.
The following pilates equipment will enhance Pilates and Stretch and Strength Classes online. All are optional but if students want to purchase their own equipment it will add variety to their workouts.
- 2 tennis balls or a posture pro
- Spikey massage ball ( $8-10)
- Golf ball
- Small loop band (the one I use are from the Kogan website – you get about 5 bands of varying intensity for about $20)
- Long roller at least 90cm long by 15cm diameter or longer if you are tall ($30-50)
- Long bands around 2m or buy 2 shorter ones and tie them together. Or a cable with handles on them
- Pilates ring ( $16-40)
- Block ($6-20)
If you are wanting to do yoga
- 2 blocks and a strap(often sold in a package)
- Pilates Ball ($15) about 23cm diameter or any soft cheap kids ball about that size
These items are NOT essential, Heather will always provide alternatives but it does add to the intensity of the workout. We encourage students to shop on line as it may be easier under the current circumstances.
Pilates Profile Heather Crowe has been working as a Pilates Instructor for 11 years and teaches Pilates Mat Work inspired by the late creator, Joseph H Pilates. Heather discovered Pilates in 1997 to assist in the recovery from a back injury after being hit by a car on her bicycle.
