Stretch & Strength: Wednesday

***This class will be held on-site at North Sydney Community Centre.***

Rebalance your mind, body and soul by improving your flexibility, enhance mobility and range of motion with anti-arthritic exercises

Improve core strength and strengthen postural muscles to improve your balance and posture.  Relax your nervous system and reduce stress by concluding the class with a healing and relaxing gong meditation.

*During COVID: Students studying on-site at NSCC will be expected to assist their tutor in a post-course clean down of the room & anything used during this time. Please understand we are putting in strict protocols across the board to ensure the safety of our entire community.

Materials List

Stretch & Strength needs a Yoga mat, and the rest of this list is optional.

The following pilates equipment will enhance Pilates and Stretch and Strength Classes online. All are optional but if students want to purchase their own equipment it will add variety to their workouts.

- 2 tennis balls or a posture pro

- Spikey massage ball ( $8-10)

- Golf ball

- Small loop band (the one I use are from the Kogan website – you get about 5 bands of varying intensity for about $20)

- Long roller at least 90cm long by 15cm diameter or longer if you are tall ($30-50)

- Long bands  around 2m or buy 2 shorter ones and tie them together. Or a cable with handles on them

- Pilates ring ( $16-40)

- Block ($6-20) 

If you are wanting to do yoga
- 2 blocks and a strap(often sold in a package)

- Pilates Ball ($15) about 23cm diameter or any soft cheap kids ball about that size

These items are NOT essential, Heather will always provide alternatives but it does add to the intensity of the workout. We encourage students to shop on line as it may be easier under the current circumstances.

Otherwise Rebel Sport and most sports shops will have these items.

Passionate yogini, soul connector and spiritual explorer who is enjoying the discovery of the authentic self. She has been practicing yoga for 30 years and teaching for more than 13 years. She loves the journey to a deep awareness and connection to all beings. Heather is honoured and grateful for the opportunities to impart the teachings of yoga and yoga philosophy with the community to enhance health and wellbeing for all, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually while providing the opportunity and possibility to connect with universal energies. Heather has committed to training in many styles of yoga over the years. Her qualifications including Yoga Foundation 2003, Diploma in Hatha yoga 2006, Yoga Therapeutics 2006, Synchro Destiny with Deepak Chopra 2006, Kundalini Yoga Level 1 certified as taught by Yogi Bhajan 2008, Yoga teaches conference Koshas-unfolding the self 2008, Ki yoga certificate of recognition 2008, Diploma in Satyananda Yoga Training Level 2 2012, Seduction of spirit and 7 spiritual Laws with Deepak Chopra 2012. She has a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the human body with qualifications in BPHED, Diploma in Exercise Science and Fitness Management, and a Master Personal Trainer.
