Edible Christmas Gifts - Made With Love

Show you care this year by making your own edible gifts: delicious, biscuits, jams and chocolate, beautifully wrapped and presented!

This year Christmas will be different. With more time on our hands but less money to spend and less opportunity (and willingness) to roam the shops to find the perfect gifts for family and friends - why not show you care this year by making your own gifts instead, beautifully wrapped and presented!

We’ll be making a range of delicious German Christmas biscuits  - like Lebkuchen with hazelnuts and spices (Original recipe from Nuernberg), two varieties of jam - grapefruit & Aperol and rockmelon & white pepper - as well as the always popular homemade chocolate bark.

Due to Covid-19 precautions, there will be more demonstration and a little less hands-on student involvement. All students will get to taste everything we make and take home some leftovers. All recipes are provided and ingredients are included in the course fee.

*COVID-19 restrictions apply to this class, social distancing will be in place, and students will also be expected to assist their tutor in a post-course clean down of the room & anything used during this time. Please understand we are putting in strict protocols across the board to ensure the safety of our entire community.

Tutor: Brigit Marx

German born pastry chef Brigit takes pride in her authentic homemade pastries, cakes, bread and waffles and combines her love and passion for baking with premium ingredients. It was a logical next step to develop from her beginnings, baking for family and friends, to leaving the corporate world of marketing behind, training at TAFE and opening her own business in the Eastern Suburbs, which she calls home since 2004. Sugarplum Bakery has grown in popularity since its start in 2010, and in 2019, Brigit was awarded a gold and bronze medal for two of her artisan breads at the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show.
