‘Our mission is to create knowledgeable food with the highest nutritional value that dances the taste buds and enlightens the soul.’
With that introduction we welcome Burbury Whole Foods to this market. Natasha Burbury and Tom Ziegler are committed to serving beautiful meals using seasonal and where possible organic ingredients from local farmers. We are delighted that most of the produce used will be sourced from our Northside Produce Market stallholders. The ‘Eggs on Toast’ will be West Walla Farm’s eggs served with pumpkin hummus, feta and avocado on sourdough rye with a side of fermented salad. We love that Tash and Tom make their own vegiemite and serve it in a combo called ‘The Aussie’ which includes our native finger lime.
The Eat In menu at this Saturday’s market continues with the return of Brilliant Foods’ steamy and creamy Seafood Chowder. For your market serve - BYO cup, mug or flask for those of you who are addicted like us! A sprinkle of glorious garnish will top it off when served at home.
Enokido Miso will provide you with a Boomerang Mug if you forget to BYO for a cup of their masterfully crafted, comforting and calming miso soup. Be taken to Japan by visiting their stall and experience their homely hospitality and discover their products on offer. I highly recommend their Soy sauce which is the best I have tried.
At the Taj Mahal stall, Dhiren Pillay has been quietly serving up his fried samosas for over 15 years at the market. His take home curries and other dishes are such an easy way to cook up an instant Indian culinary experience. So much so that we have asked Dhiren for his 2nd year , to cater for our upcoming event at the Centre on Sunday, May 25th - Conversations about Death & Dying.
Nick and Mel Norris of Fat Wren Farm may be still be a little jet lagged on Saturday having not long stepped off a plane from China via Italy. In their quest to make the best balsamic vinegars, they decided to go and learn from the masters themselves - in Italy. We can’t wait to hear of their experience and to see and taste the results!
Use your pedal power to get to the market in this lovely Autumn weather and make the most of the opportunity to have your bike serviced for free at our Tune In & Check Up by PedalEd thanks to the support of North Sydney Council. The service will operate from 8am till 12pm and will be located next to the Info stall along the middle pathway in Civic Park.
We look forward to seeing everybody on Saturday. Lisa MacDonald, Northside Produce Market Coordinator
