Thank you to everybody who supported our fundraising effort for the Drought Relief and Bushfire Appeal with our Cookbook Nook Clearance at our last market. We raised over $900 and are continuing it at the Centre and have raised another $500 so far.
Summer arrives at Northside Produce Market with the early season Chelan cherries at Produce from Orange’s stall. Yuri says the trees have worked very hard during the drought to produce the fruit and the result is amazing. Not quite as big as a result of the dry but juicy and crisp and no sponginess as can be the case at the beginning of the season.
Sizzling specials will be taking place at Meave O’meara’s stall on Saturday. Maeve will be selling her Food Safari Fire and Food Safari Earth Fire Water cookbooks as well as gift certificates for one day food adventures - walking tours, bus tours and banquets in Sydney and Melbourne.
La Truffiere are bringing their prize winning truffle products for your BBQs, salads and desserts. Taste their latest truffled dressing and their sweet toppings such as truffled salted caramel sauce and truffled chocolate sauce.
Our 4 legged customers are well catered for the warmer weather with Hello Puppy’s mix and make at home Pet Ice-cream in 4 flavours. Like the probiotic Puppiccino mix, all are made from natural, preservative free and organic ingredients.
This will be the All Natural Australian Pet Treats stall last market with us until they return in the new year for our 1st market on January 18th (we are always closed on the 1st Saturday in Jan). Make sure to top up with their dried gourmet and preservative free pet treats made from premium quality meats and wild caught seafood.
With only one more market until Christmas, don’t forget to place your orders for our December 21st market. From seafood, meat, fresh produce, garlic plaits to cheese, dips, bread, biscuits, sweet treats, puddings, creamy limoncello and ales, the market is abundant with your festive needs and Christmas presents.
Our December markets would not be the same without local Bruce Gibson and his wooden reindeers handmade from fallen branches collected from the area. Bruce’s wife Janet has also been busy, making her beautiful Christmas wreaths all made with natural materials including Australian native flowers.
As is tradition, the 1st North Sydney Scouts will be selling fresh Christmas trees by the big Fir tree in the middle of the park. They sell out each year, so we recommend pre-ordering online: www.northsydneyscouts.org
We have plenty of bags and baskets for you to load up all of your shopping into and that make for great presents from The Crazy Bag Lady , Oollooll Australia with their hand crocheted baskets and the classic French market baskets from the 2 Duck Trading Co.
Northsider will be giving out the Summer edition of their local magazine. Be quick to use the coupon inside for a free seedling from Wormticklers Nursery. We’re loving Jordan’s ‘Weed it & Reep’ column.
Pick up a copy of our 2020 North Sydney Community Centre’s What’s On Guide at our Info stall where you can purchase one of our fabulous 2020 Northside Produce Market calendars.
We look forward to seeing everybody on Saturday. Lisa MacDonald, Northside Produce Market Coordinator
