Dhiren Pillay’s family run business started in 1984 by his parents of Indian descent who immigrated from Durban, South Africa. Originally started as a bakery making pies, bread rolls and other pastries, Dhiren joined the business in 1999 and started to change it into a spice manufacturer also making tandoori paste, rotis, samosas and curries.

Today 20 years later, Taj Mahal Fine Food’s Tandoori has won several awards and is one of the best on the market. They were featured on SBS Food Safaris and supply most of the South African butchers and Delis in Sydney with their products. Dhiren attends 6 major food and produce markets and regards the Northside Produce Market as one of Sydney’s best.


We have a shop located at 50 Frederick St Rockdale that is open to the public and we also supply our full range of products to Springbok Delights located at 656 Mowbray Rd, Lance Cove.
