Northside Produce Market - Saturday September 19

We are thrilled that The Gourmet Potato - Kadwell is joining Northside Produce Market. A big congratulations on recently winning the State and Gold Medals in the From the Earth category of the delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards 2020 with their Andean Sunrise potato. Over 20 year ago in Crookwell in the Southern Uplands of NSW, Garry Kadwell had the vision to grow the best potatoes by developing 'nature's best soils’. "We work hard to deliver the most nutritious and flavoursome potatoes within a well-established, sustainable framework of regenerative farming. Our varieties have delivered truly delicious flavours this year following the toughest growing conditions of extreme drought and then very extensive rains.”

In 2019, Azeema and Faiz Sohail realised the traditional Indian sauces they were buying at the supermarkets were not doing their food and culture justice. Often containing water as the main ingredient and some form of preservatives. Indian curries are based on flavour built on spices, reflecting the regions they herald from and this inspired Mix Masala. We welcome Azeema and Faiz”s range of curry sauces creating an authentic Indian meal which you will want to continue eating for breakfast the next day. Wait till you try their chutneys too!

Mahmood Parast drank a lot of sugary drinks until his Doctor told him he had diabetes. After extensive research, Mahmood started fermenting water Kefir 3 years ago and found the perfect balance of a delicious and healthy drink. This Saturday Mahmood introduces us to his Organic Barn range of sparkling, probiotic rich, fermented drinks. Every bottle contains billions of Kefir cultures and is flavoured with either passionfruit, mango, mixed berries or lemon and lime.

Lee and Shay Orbach are partners in life and both chefs who worked in restaurants in Israel. They bring to this market their realised dream of a business serving food that reflects the influences, flavours and variety of the Middle East that they grew up with and all derived from plants. From Bourek to Cashew Labneh and Buckwheat crackers, most of their menu is gluten and dairy free.

Untrashy have returned and it’s great to have Vanessa & Tim Heffernan back with their sustainable alternatives to single-use plastic. Check out their new stylish food-grade silicone reusable baking mats, so you no longer need to use single-use baking paper and aluminium foil.

At the Mailer McGuire Kombucha stall, Rosie Morison will have her special release, Golden Peony Kombucha on tap. This single estate, white tea kombucha has notes of lychee, lime and pear. Perfect for springtime drinking in the afternoon or evening.

We applaud Anna Con of 3 Green Peas in being a finalist of the 2020 Women with Altitiude awards for Best Handmade Product. We are amazed by all the Greek based deliciousness you create knowing that being a single Mum of 2 is a full-time job in itself.

I look forward to seeing everybody shopping Covid-19 safely at this Spring market.

Lisa MacDonald, Northside Produce Market Coordinator.
