We’re celebrating Mother’s Day at our May 7 Northside Produce Market. We’ve got you covered whether you bring Mum to the market to spoil her or come without her, to gather ingredients for a celebratory meal and gifts to present to her on Mum’s day.
We are thrilled that Victoria Alexander is launching her latest book ‘Home’ at this market. Well known as the founder of popular Balmoral restaurant cafe Bathers’ Pavilion, this author, photographer, freelance stylist and art director is often seen leaving the market with baskets loaded to their brim. ‘Home’ has been six years in the making and you can see the love that has gone into every page of this beautiful and inspiring book. Be sure to get it signed for Mum.
We welcome father and son team, Tim and Noah Stern with Pure Fruit Slice to Northside. The dried fruit slices are made from an assortment of Australian fresh berries, tropical fruits and fruit such as apples, pears and figs. The fruit is steamed, pureed and dehydrated and with no added sugar, preservatives or colourings, the ‘leathers’ make for a great, healthy snack that goes a long way, with their origins found in Turkish and Iranian cuisine.
Beautiful Upcycled Designs return for our Mother’s Day market. We love how Genevieve Jordan creatively handcrafts used coffee pods into gorgeous earrings and beautiful necklace pieces that are super lightweight. Mum will love wearing them and knowing that your sustainable purchase has decreased landfill.
The Pantry Providores range of durable and colourful aprons are always popular. This latest collection made with material featuring Australian native flora make for a beautiful and practical Mother’s Day gift. Colin’s range of Australian Organic condiments, vinegars and oils also make for enjoyable gifts.
Mayfarm Flowers will have a display of fresh flowers at their stall to rival Floriade! From Lilies, Tulips, Roses, Chrysanthemums to Misty, Paper Daisies, sweet Sugar Snaps, beaming Sunflowers and more. The array of colour and scent will bring joy to Mums and all of us at the market.
Sadly, this will be Moonacres Farm last stall with us for quite some time. Situated in Fitzroy Falls in the Southern Highlands, Phil Lavers property on average, receives much higher rainfall than Sydney. The ongoing effect of La Niña and the excessive rain it has created over the last few months has meant that Phil and his team have not been able to plant future crops.
The Bag Depot is back! We need your unwanted, clean cloth, carry bags for anyone who needs an extra carry bag at the market. Drop off at the Bag Depot at our Market Info stall or at the North Sydney Community Centre from 10am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
