Woodwork: Kid-Size Furniture

Course Overview

In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn to create charming, kid-sized furniture perfect for a patio, garden, or indoor space.

Choose between crafting a simple half-size Adirondack chair or a small, versatile table. These timeless pieces will add both function and charm to any home.  

What Participants Will Learn:
  • How to measure, cut, and assemble timber using basic woodworking techniques  
  • Step-by-step guidance on building sturdy, time-tested furniture designs  
  • Tips on finishing touches to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal  
Key Skills Covered:
  • Safe use of hand tools and basic power tools  
  • Precision cutting and assembly  
  • Structural integrity and finishing techniques    
Materials Provided:
  • Timber and all necessary hardware  
  • Access to woodworking tools and safety equipment  
What to Bring:
  • Lunch (or enjoy a meal from one of the nearby cafes)  
  • Comfortable clothing suitable for a workshop environment  

This workshop is ideal for beginners and hobbyists eager to learn woodworking while creating a lasting piece of furniture.

David is a stallholder at the Northside Produce Market, held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM—be sure to drop by and check out his woodwork stall!
