Course Overview
Make an elegant breakfast tray, serving platter, with basic hand tools.
What you’ll learn
- Cutting timber to size with hand saws
- Basic assembly with glue and dowels
- Wood staining and finishing techniques
What you’ll make
- A unique, custom wooden tray for the kitchen, barbecue, or charcuterie
- Each tray will be different, reflecting your own creativity and design choices
Tools/materials required
- All timber, glue, fittings provided
- Students are welcome to bring small items to incorporate if desired
Clothing & Safety
- No loose sleeves
- Sturdy closed-toe shoes
- Attention to safety when using hand saws, nail gun, and pyro tools
On the day
- David will guide you step-by-step as you select timber pieces, cut to size, assemble your tray, and add finishing touches.
- You’ll get hands-on experience with simple hand and power tools in a safe environment.
