Woodwork for Beginners - Breakfast Tray

Course Overview

Make an elegant breakfast tray, serving platter, with basic hand tools.
What you’ll learn
  • Cutting timber to size with hand saws
  • Basic assembly with glue and dowels
  • Wood staining and finishing techniques
What you’ll make
  • A unique, custom wooden tray for the kitchen, barbecue, or charcuterie
  • Each tray will be different, reflecting your own creativity and design choices
Tools/materials required
  • All timber, glue, fittings provided
  • Students are welcome to bring small items to incorporate if desired
Clothing & Safety
  • No loose sleeves
  • Sturdy closed-toe shoes
  • Attention to safety when using hand saws, nail gun, and pyro tools
On the day
  • David will guide you step-by-step as you select timber pieces, cut to size,  assemble your tray, and add finishing touches.
  • You’ll get hands-on experience with simple hand and power tools in a safe environment.
