Roll With It: Make Your Own Sausage Rolls (12-15 year olds)

Course Overview

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and bake your own sausage rolls from scratch!

In this hands-on workshop, students will create savoury pastry rolls using ready-made puff pastry and a filling of their choice - vegetarian, chicken, beef, or pork.

It’s a great way to learn practical cooking skills while having fun in the kitchen.

Students will explore different flavour combinations, learn how to season and shape their filling, and practice baking techniques like egg-washing and sealing pastry.

Whether they’re trying something new or already love to cook, this workshop builds kitchen confidence and creativity.

This workshop is for kids aged between 12 - 15 (This is a drop-off workshop - parents do not need to stay).

In this workshop, students will:
  • Learn about food safety, especially when handling raw meat

  • Choose and prepare their filling (veg or meat options available)

  • Roll, shape, and decorate their own sausage rolls

  • Bake and enjoy what they’ve made with their group

  • Help clean up and set the table for a shared meal

Each student will take home:
  • A batch of their freshly baked sausage rolls

  • A “Roll With It” recipe sheet full of filling ideas to try again at home

What to bring:
  • An apron

  • A lidded container to take food home

Perfect for young cooks who want to try something savoury, satisfying, and fun!
