About the Opportunity

• Position: Acting Assistant Director After School Care (OSHC)
• Type: Parental Leave Cover with a Maximum-Term Contract (up to 12 months) Term Time Only Children’s Services Award, Level 7

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Acting Assistant Director to join our After School Care team in a maximum-term parental leave replacement position for up to 12 months.

Working alongside the ASC Director, you will assist with day-to-day leadership of the service, support a high-quality educational program, mentor educators, and ensure the service continues to meet all regulatory and quality requirements.

This role is ideal for an experienced OSHC educator who is ready to step into a leadership position or an existing Assistant Director looking for a rewarding opportunity within a supportive community organisation.

Please note: This position is a parental leave replacement. The contract is for a maximum term of up to 12 months and will conclude upon the return of the substantive Assistant Director from parental leave, which may occur earlier than the maximum contract period.

Key Responsibilities

As Acting Assistant Director, you will:

• Support compliance with the National Law & Regulations and Child Safe Standards
• Act as Responsible Person
• Ensuring a safe and inclusive OSHC service for staff and children
• Assist mentor educators and support training, induction, and team culture
• Oversee daily operations, documentation, and WHS checks
• Build positive relationships with families and school partners
• Assist with administrative tasks

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A qualification (or be actively working towards one) in Early Childhood Education and Care or a related discipline.
• Previous experience working within an OSHC service.
• Demonstrated leadership skills or experience supervising educators.
• A sound understanding of the National Quality Framework and Child Safe Standards.
• Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• A collaborative and positive approach to leadership.
• Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis qualifications (or the ability to obtain before commencement).
• Completion of the mandatory National Child Safe training via GECCKO.
• A current NSW Working With Children Check.
