Volunteers are at the heart of what we do, and we’re looking for someone who is passionate about community connection to help support and grow our volunteer team.
About the Role
We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator (Volunteer Position) to oversee the recruitment, onboarding, support and engagement of our wonderful volunteers. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is organised, and wants to contribute meaningfully to a local not‑for‑profit community centre.
You’ll be the friendly point of contact for volunteers, helping ensure they feel welcomed, informed, valued and supported in their roles across the Centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome, onboard and support new volunteers
- Maintain volunteer records and schedules
- Communicate regularly with volunteers and program staff
- Assist with volunteer role descriptions and recruitment
- Help ensure volunteers feel connected, appreciated, and engaged
- Coordinate volunteer recognition activities and events
- Support a positive, inclusive, community‑focused volunteer culture
What We’re Looking For
- Warm, approachable communication style
- Strong organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Interest in community development and people‑focused work
- Reliability and a commitment to supporting others
- Previous volunteer experience (coordinating or participating) is helpful but not essential

Time Commitment
Flexible, ideally 3–5 hours per week, depending on availability. Some tasks can be done remotely; others are best done onsite.
