A Feast of Watercolour

Course Overview

Treat yourself to a vibrant day of creativity in this hands-on watercolour workshop!

Whether you're just starting out or have years of experience, this session is designed to expand your skills and spark your imagination.

Over the course of the day, you’ll complete three beautiful watercolour artworks:

  • A still life

  • A landscape

  • An animal study

With expert guidance, you’ll learn key techniques such as colour mixing, drawing foundations, brush selection, and paint application. Each project is designed to help you develop your confidence and produce rich, fluid, and expressive pieces.

What to bring:
  • Watercolours (tray format)

  • Watercolour pencils and paints

  • Watercolour or cartridge paper (150gsm or heavier)

  • HB pencils

  • Watercolour brushes (standard sizes)

Come away with new skills, fresh inspiration, and a small collection of completed works.

Suitable for all levels.

About the tutor

Richard Byrnes

Richard is a practising artist, having held 23 solo and over 100 group exhibitions in Australia and overseas. Having extensive teaching experience to draw upon, he is committed to teaching sound drawing and sculpture techniques in ways that are clear and accessible. His core belief is that art should be exciting and joyous. Richards works are included in the National Gallery, University of NSW, Artbank, Macquarie University and various regional gallery collections. His public sculpture commissions can be seen in North Sydney, Marrickville and Macquarie University. He is represented by the Robin Gibson Gallery in Sydney.
