Discover Furoshiki - The Eco-Friendly Art of Japanese Wrapping

Course Overview

Discover the beautiful and practical Japanese art of Furoshiki, a traditional wrapping technique with a long history in Japanese culture.

Using just a simple square piece of cloth, Furoshiki offers a remarkably versatile way to wrap, carry and protect everyday items. In this hands-on workshop, participants will be guided through a variety of folding, wrapping and knotting techniques, learning how to wrap a gift or lunch box, carry bottles, or quickly transform a piece of fabric into a handy shopping bag.
Furoshiki is also a creative and eco-friendly alternative to disposable gift wrapping and bags, with the same piece of fabric able to be reused again and again.

Taking place in a relaxed and welcoming setting, with the tutor on hand to demonstrate each technique and provide individual guidance, this workshop is suitable for everyone, with no previous experience required.

Participants will leave with practical new skills, a wrapping of their own creation, and plenty of inspiration to incorporate Furoshiki into everyday life.
