Interior Design Fundamentals

Course Overview

Step inside the world of interior design and learn how to transform any space with confidence, creativity and purpose.

Across nine inspiring weeks, designer Kerry Selby Brown guides you through the essential foundations of great interiors – from furniture flow and colour psychology to fabrics, styling, lighting and the secrets professionals use to make a room feel “just right.”

You will explore how to plan a renovation, create functional layouts, choose colours that support mood, work with texture, select textiles that last and bring a room together with art, lighting and soft furnishings. You will also learn where designers shop, how to brief trades and how to design a master bedroom that feels grounded, calm and beautifully resolved.

Whether you are refreshing a single room or dreaming of a full renovation, this course gives you the skills, insider knowledge and confidence to design spaces that truly feel like home.

Subjects include:
  • Furniture configuration & flow using 1:50 scale
