Afternoon Tea Treats (10-12 year olds)

Course Overview

Whip up something sweet in this fun, hands-on baking workshop all about afternoon tea!

Young bakers will learn how to make three classic treats—chewy muesli slice, chocolate muffins, and sugar biscuits - while picking up essential kitchen skills along the way.

Working in small teams, students will rotate between baking stations, measure and mix ingredients, and take part in setting the table for a proper afternoon tea tasting. It’s the perfect introduction to baking, teamwork, and the joy of sharing something you’ve made.

Ages 10–12 (Parents are welcome to stay if they prefer, but are not required to stay for the workshop)

In the workshop, kids will:
  • Learn kitchen safety and hygiene basics
  • Bake three different treats from scratch
    • Muesli Slice (oats, seeds, fruit, honey)
    • Chocolate Muffins (rich and fluffy)

  • Enjoy a group tasting and reflect on what they learned
  • Team up to clean the kitchen and set a tea table
Each baker takes home:

  • A printed recipe sheet for all three items
  • A “Mini Afternoon Tea Baker” certificate
