Free Pottery for Teens: Hand Building Techniques (12-16 year olds)

Get creative and discover your inner artist in this fun, hands-on clay workshop!

Designed for teens aged 12–16, this class explores the tactile, calming world of clay while helping you create your own unique pieces. Whether you’re a complete beginner or already love making things, you’ll pick up new skills along the way.

In this workshop, teens will learn:

  • The basics of hand-building: pinching, coiling and slab techniques
  • The “scratch and attach” method
  • Simple tips to keep your pieces strong and crack-free

You will use these skills to create personalised items or fun character figurines.

All materials are provided, including clay, tools, glazes, and kiln firing.

Classes are small (maximum of 10 students), so there’s plenty of support and guidance throughout.

Please note:
  • Finished pieces will be ready for collection approximately 3 weeks after the workshop, and you’ll be notified by email when they’re ready
  • This is a one-day workshop with two available sessions: 9am–12pm and 1pm–4pm
