It is with great sadness that we remember Carol Dettmann, who passed away in September 2026
Carol was one of the founders of North Sydney Community Centre and a long-standing Committee member, serving as Chairperson for many years. Together with her husband, Nick, she played an important role in establishing the Centre and in securing the beautiful building we have today.
The Centre would not be what it is today without Carol. Her tireless work, dedication and commitment to the community helped shape the Centre and its place within the North Sydney community.
Carol was a very special person, remembered for her kindness, generosity, optimism and wonderful ability to connect people. Her contribution and legacy will continue to live on through North Sydney Community Centre and the many people whose lives she touched.
Vale Carol. You will be deeply missed and always remembered.
