Move Well, Stay Active

Course Overview

Move Well, Stay Active

Keep moving and your fitness routine during the term break with three friendly, supportive fitness sessions designed to help you stay active, build strength and confidence, and feel good in your movement.

Stay active and build strength and confidence in your movement through three supportive, coached fitness sessions. Across the program, you’ll explore everyday movement, gentle resistance exercises, balance, mobility and coordination, gradually building your skills at a comfortable pace.

Designed to welcome a range of ages, abilities and fitness levels, the sessions offer plenty of options to adapt movements to suit you. No previous experience with weights or gym-based exercise is required.

Session 1 – Strong Foundations: Move & Lift with Confidence

Get comfortable with the fundamentals of safe, effective movement in this coached full-body session.

Using light weights, bodyweight and functional exercises, you’ll explore everyday movement patterns including squats, lunges, hinges, pushes and pulls, with an emphasis on good technique, control and confidence. Exercises can be adapted to different fitness levels, with additional weights available for those who would like more of a challenge.

Session 2 – Dumbbell Fitness: Full-Body Movement

Continue building strength and confidence with an enjoyable full-body session using dumbbells, light weights and bodyweight exercises.

The class combines resistance exercises with functional movement to support stability, coordination and overall fitness. Everyone can work at their own level, with options to make exercises easier or more challenging. No previous weight-training experience is needed.

Session 3 – Move Better: Mobility, Balance & Strength

Bring everything together in a varied session combining functional movement, mobility, balance, stability and gentle strength work.

You’ll revisit movements such as squats, lunges, hinges, pushing and pulling while exploring alignment, balance, control and comfortable range of motion. Using bodyweight and light-to-moderate weights, the focus is on moving well, building confidence and supporting the movements we use in everyday life.

Outcomes:
