A mindful artmaking session for Mental Health Awareness Month

Bring your creative spirit to life in this wonderful nature-based art making session. Make your own art tools with sticks feathers, rocks, seed pods and leaves and use paints to make your mark. Let go and be free….relax, enjoy and connect with others in welcome and safe place. 

In this soothing artmaking session with Mara, you are invited to practice mindful artmaking, letting go of expectations allowing the nature items to make their mark through you….and discover the beauty that emerges.

No art experience necessary, just a desire to explore, learn, relax and have fun.

Session includes: 
  • A short introductory meditation
  • Mindful artmaking with beautiful nature items
  • Discussion about the healing power of nature
  • A sense of inspiration and joy

All materials supplied

Please note this workshop is aimed at people ages 18yrs+

About the tutor

Mara Lyone

Creative workshops with Mara are high quality experiences designed to deliver meaningful outcomes for participants for emotional wellbeing, relaxation and learning. Participants come together in safe spaces where senses come alive and make way for valuable insights, inspiration and joy. Mara works with a diverse range of people from all walks of life. The people who come to her artmaking table range from 3-100 years old from corporate, mental health, aged care /dementia, hospital settings, health retreats, disability, government and public events. Based in Sydney, Mara currently works with cancer patients at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, delivers workshops in Italian and English at Scalabrini Dementia Village as well as ongoing workshops for people living with disability, and mental health in various organisations.Mara is also a guide at the Art Gallery of NSW, and is the access and inclusion coordinator for the 'Tactile Tours'program at Sculpture by the Sea. Mara Lyone is a qualified art therapist and meditation teacher.
