Italian Advanced (B2)
Course Overview
Designed for students with a minimum 3 - 4 year study who wish to engage in active conversation and gain a deeper understanding of the language and culture.
You are fluent using all tenses and a vast vocabulary. You are generally confident in using your Italian language skills and seeking the opportunity to practise and keep improving. Grammar still has some more secrets to reveal to you and the audio-visual resources used in class will help consolidate its concepts and bring you closer to Italy. This class is held entirely in Italian.
Course content
Week 1: Revision lesson focused on conversation
Week 2: Famous Italians in history
Week 3: Leonardo Da Vinci, myth and reality
Week 4: the gerund, when and how to use it
Week 5: Great Romans and the story of Emperor Adriano
Week 6: Positions of pronouns with the gerund
Week 7: Adjectives in -bile
Week 8: how to use the impersonal forms
This outline provides an overview of what may be covered during the course; however, changes may occur based on various factors and the needs of the class.
Course outcomes
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
- Use the gerund correctly.
- Talk about famous historical characters.
- Comment on historical facts.
- Use impersonal forms.
- Present a research project.
- Use everyday colloquial idioms
- Express hypothesis.

Elena was born and bred in Milan, speaks 5 languages fluently and has a Degree in Interpreting and an honours degree in Foreign Languages and Literature from Milan University.
Languages and communication have been her passion from a very young age.
She has been teaching for over 20 years with great passion and is running yearly Tours to Italy to help students of all levels improve their Italian and discover Italian culture and lifestyle.
