Everyday Gourmet: Cooking with Coast Of Gold with Genevieve Muir

Course Overview

Discover how to elevate your everyday cooking using the bold, aromatic flavours of West Africa.

In this hands-on cooking demonstration, food educator Genevieve Muir will show you how to transform simple, seasonal ingredients into gourmet-style meals using condiments from Coast of Gold.

This isn’t a deep dive into traditional African cuisine. Instead, it’s a practical and inspiring session that blends local Australian produce with the rich, spicy profiles of West African sauces, relishes, and oils.

You’ll learn how to:
  • Build layers of flavour using hot sauces, relishes, and spice-infused oils

  • Marinate meats, vegetables, and grains to bring out their full potential

  • Create simple, impressive meals with seasonal ingredients

  • Serve and plate with flair, putting Coast of Gold condiments front and centre

From grilled vegetables drizzled in Shito to weeknight roasts elevated with smoky marinades, this class will help you experiment with confidence and creativity. Tastings are included, and ingredients will be sourced from the Northside Produce Market where possible.

At the end of the workshop, participants will sit down together to enjoy the food they’ve created.

Everyone will leave with recipe cards, flavour pairing suggestions, and a cheeky mini jar of the hero product: Shito Pepper Sauce.

Workshop Outcome:

A happy, confident cooking community inspired to bring African flavours into their everyday meals.

Genevieve is a stallholder at the Northside Produce Market, held on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 8am to 12pm  - be sure to drop by and check out her stall!
