Join Indian food connoisseur, cook, and writer, Bhavna Kalra, or The Modern Desi as she guides you through an informative and delicious workshop where you'll learn how to create your very own six-course Indian feast using seasonal vegetables. Whether you're a curry enthusiast, an aspiring cook, or simply someone who enjoys authentic and hearty Indian food, this class is perfect for you!

In this five-hour workshop, you'll delve into the rich food history behind the Indian dishes we'll be cooking. You'll also learn the essential "Spices 1, 2, 3" - a valuable guide to the spices you need to prepare a flavourful Indian meal and where to find them. With hands-on practice and expert guidance, you'll master traditional Indian cooking techniques and learn tips and tricks to make your dishes truly shine.

But the best part? You'll get to savor one of the most delicious seven-course Indian feasts you've ever had the pleasure of tasting! 

Menu
  • Mushroom Malai Mutter (Mushrooms cooked with peas and cream)
  • Spinach Dal 
  • Vegetable fried rice 
  • Chicken Kadhai 
  • Dum Aloo 
  • Poori (Deep fried bread)
  • Zucchini Raita

Please note: some dishes may change depending on the availability of ingredients) 

During the class, you'll gain the confidence to work with spices and lentils, not only for Indian dishes but for other cuisines as well. While this workshop is not 100% hands-on, rest assured that all the vegetables will be pre-chopped, minimizing the need for extensive handling of common ingredients. This makes our class suitable for those who are gluten intolerant, vegan, and/or vegetarian.

Attendees will get:
  • Nibbles to start your class with our signature chutney 
  • All the ingredients and cooking equipment.
  • Printed recipes for every dish for you to take home. 
  • Seven-course sit-down meal 
  • Cooking assistance
  • Free subscription to more recipes online
Attendees should bring:
  • An apron or buy one on-site 
  • Hair lackey to tie your hair back
  • Bring your own favorite drink. Indian food goes well with a Crisp Chardonnay or beer
Knowledge/skills required:
  • Beginners OR experts who want to learn how to get started OR learn more about Indian cuisine.
  • Kids over 13 years welcome, as long as accompanied by a parent or guardian.
