Body Conditioning
Course Overview
Body Conditioning is a total body, music-based, Non dancing, group fitness class
The focus is on functional fitness, strength, mobility and balance exercises.
Perfect for anyone NOT a “dance class fan" or who wants to compliment their cardiovascular workouts with a Body Conditioning workout.
The music used in this class is specifically designed for a Body Conditioning class, so expect a music combination of disco, pop, rock, and some timeless oldies.
This class has 3 main components:
- A 15-minute of standing mobility/ balance exercises using a playball
- A 20-minute of standing strength exercises using hand weights
- A 15-minute mat (lying on the floor) exercises for core, using a playball and your own body strength.
- Stretch 2 mins relaxation
Course Breakdown
Week 1 - 3: Selection of standing ball exercises, standing strength using hand weights, and core exercises using the ball, plus bodyweight exercises on the mat.
Week 4 - 6: Different selection of exercises, standing and mat, plus utilising a resistance band in your workout
Week 7 - 9: Different selection of exercises, standing and mat, plus utilising hand weights for mat exercises.
This outline provides an overview of what may be covered during the course; however, changes may occur based on various factors and the needs of the class.
Term Dates
Term 1 runs from Wednesday 5 February to Wednesday 2 April
Term 2 runs from Wednesday 30 April to Wednesday 25 June
Term 3 runs from Wednesday 23 July to Wednesday 17 September
Term 4 runs from Wednesday 15 October to Wednesday 10 December

As a qualified 'freestyle' exercise instructor, I have more freedom to design choreography and choose music that suits the class. Nancy Morales
Nancy was born in the beautiful country of Guatemala in Central America, music is an essential part of her culture and she enjoys dancing and teaching with it. Nancy loves to dance salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton, and many more rhythms. She became an instructor not long after her arrival to Australia, this combined with her latin roots and with her beautiful personality makes a perfect match for this class. She loves the impact that her classes have on a person and enjoys seeing her students with smiles on their faces as they dance along and get fit while maintaining an active life.
