Gentle Yoga for Balance & Wellbeing

Course Overview

Take some time out of your week to slow down, move gently and reconnect with your body.

Drawing on gentle Hatha yoga principles, each class combines accessible movement, simple breathing practices and moments of relaxation to support strength, balance, mobility and an overall sense of wellbeing. Rather than focusing on perfecting poses or technical progression, the course encourages participants to move at their own pace, pay attention to how their body feels and enjoy the benefits of moving with greater awareness.

Throughout the term, classes will explore different themes such as balance and stability, releasing tension, breathing, rest and mindful movement. Each session is complete in itself, so there is no need to worry if you miss a week, while the changing themes provide plenty to explore over the nine weeks.

The course is suitable for beginners as well as those with yoga experience who are looking for a gentler, more mindful practice. Movements can be adapted to different abilities, creating a supportive and relaxed environment in which to move, breathe and take some time for yourself.

Participants can expect to:
  • Develop strength, mobility and balance through gentle movement
  • Explore simple breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Build greater confidence and awareness in movement
  • Take time each week to pause, recharge and reconnect

Anne-Lynn Nilius

Yoga has been a grounding force in my life, bringing greater balance, curiosity and kindness while supporting my physical health, mental wellbeing and personal growth. It has inspired me to create welcoming spaces where others can experience these benefits in their own way. I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training with InYoga and have taught regular weekly Hatha yoga classes at Life Source Yoga in North Sydney, alongside community park yoga classes and occasional Yin Yoga cover classes. I remain committed to ongoing learning and professional development, continually deepening my practice and refining my teaching. My classes offer a gentle, mindful approach to yoga, encouraging people to move at their own pace and discover what feels right for their body. Rather than striving for perfect poses, I invite students to explore movement with curiosity, balance and intention in a supportive and inclusive environment. I believe yoga is for everybody, regardless of age or experience. My aim is to help people leave each class feeling a little more balanced, refreshed and connected, while discovering simple practices they can carry into everyday life.
