Course Overview

Move Better. Stand Taller. Think Sharper. Live Stronger.

If you want to maintain mobility, strength, balance, and independence this is the class for you. 

This program brings together evidence-based exercise principles-functional strength, balance, mobility, posture, and cognitive training.  We will incorporate seasonal breathing, myofascial release, and mindful movement. This course will empower you with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to move more freely, build functional strength, improve balance, support healthy ageing, and enjoy everyday activities with greater ease and vitality.

This program is designed to help you:
  • Move Better through improved mobility and functional movement.
  • Build Strength for everyday activities.
  • Improve Balance to support confidence and independence.
  • Enhance Brain Health through coordinated movement and cognitive challenges.
  • Support Healthy Ageing with evidence-informed exercise and mindful movement.
  • Feel More Energised with better posture, breathing, and body awareness.
Each class session includes:
  • 15 min warm up to lubricate Joints, improve circulation & mobility
  • 20 min Function and postural correction strength and core training , brain training
  • 15 min stretch and myofascial release
  • 5 min Seasonal Breathing practice
  • 5 min guided relaxation.
Course Breakdown
  • Week 1: Introduction, build your foundation, Assess posture, Breathing, Core activation
  • Week 2: Healthy Feet & Balance, Fall Prevention, Foot strength, Ankle mobility
  • Week 3: Strong Legs, Sit-to-Stand. Walking power, Hip Strength
  • Week 4: Healthy Spine, Thoracic mobility, Back Strength, Core Stability
  • Week 5: Better Posture, Neck, Shoulders, Upper Back, Breathing
  • Week 6: Core for life, Pelvis Floor, Deep abdominals, Back Health.
  • Week 7: Brain & Balance, Reaction, Memory, Coordination, Vestibular System.
  • Week 8: Move like you mean it.  Lifting, Reaching, Twisting safely, Carrying groceries, Getting off the floor.
  • Week 9: Power & Confidence, Functional Strength, Bone loading, Agility, Confidence
  • Week 10: Integration and combining all previous sessions

Please note: Week-to-week learning may vary term-to-term depending on the season and who is attending the session, any injuries/challenges. There is the option to use equipment to enhance the intensity and variety of each sessions.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this program participants will:

Move with Greater Ease
  • Improve everyday movement patterns.
  • Walk with greater confidence and efficiency.
  • Increase overall mobility and flexibility.
Build Functional Strength
  • Develop strength for daily activities such as lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, and getting up from the floor.
  • Improve muscular endurance and stability.
  • Increase bone-loading exercises to support healthy ageing.
Improve Balance & Stability
  • Enhance balance and coordination.
  • Reduce the risk of falls.
  • Build confidence moving on different surfaces and in daily life.
Improve Posture
  • Develop better spinal alignment.
  • Reduce neck, shoulder and lower back tension.
  • Improve breathing mechanics through better posture.
Support Heart & Circulation
  • Improve cardiovascular health through gentle functional movement.
  • Increase circulation and overall energy.
  • Support healthy blood pressure and oxygen delivery.
Enhance Brain Health
  • Improve coordination through brain-body integration exercises.
  • Challenge memory, reaction time and concentration.
  • Support healthy cognitive ageing with movement-based brain training.

  • Improve lung capacity and breathing efficiency
  • Reduce stress and anxiety.
  • Learn seasonal breathing practices to support overall wellbeing.
Increase Mobility & Flexibility

Types of Equipment Used

Chair, pilates ball, weights, small bands, long bands, block. 

Alternatives

Seated exercise alternatives can be provided for students who need additional options.

Namaste, I’m Heather (aka Yogabindu) I love yoga and living a yogic lifestyle.  I have been practicing various yoga styles since 1987.
