Course Overview
Experience the healing power of shinrin-yoku – the Japanese practice of forest bathing
Shinrin-Yoku is the practice of walking slowly through the woods, in no hurry, for a morning, an afternoon or a day.You bathe in the environment of the forest, using all your senses to experience nature upclose. It is a simple natural therapy that has been used for many years. With Shinrin-Yoku, trees provides fresh oxygen so you can take a deeper breath and the green colours of the leaves soothe your eyes, sounds of birds and water from creek calm the noise in your head and you feel the breeze on your skin.
Enjoy a peaceful forest walk and explore your creativity by connecting with nature. This is a gentle way to release your stress/anxiety. After the walk, Mayu will provide tea and snacks.

What you need to bring
- Water
- Hat
- Good walking shoes (no sandal)
Please Note: We are meeting at 9:50 am in Lane Cove National Park for a 10am departure. A park entry fee of $8 will be required to pay on the day
Shinrin-Yoku – Schedule
- Introduction : 10-15 min
- Slow forest walk including mindfulness activities 1.5hours
- Japanese tea & snacks 30 minutes
- Most part of the walking course is flat, including stairs with a gentle incline.
- Reasonable fitness is required.
